You saw me before I was born.
Psalm 139:16-17
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
How precious are your thoughts about me, O God.
They cannot be numbered!
The story of your life is masterful. Every moment is meaningful. All the details are intentional.
It’s astounding to think that there’s a book about your life already recorded … and the author is God Almighty.
Sometimes, though, we lose sight of our story. Confusion creeps in. Discouragement derails. Our perspective gets cloudy, especially when we’re experiencing pain.
It’s easy to sleepwalk through life, simply going through the motions, minds numbed by the monotony. We forget that our circumstances don’t determine our destiny.
God knows the big picture. He’s the author, after all. He’s intimately invested in your life — promising to give you hope and a future.
Your life is telling a story.
Are you struggling to make sense of it? Do you desire to better understand how God is at work? Do you hope to one day share your story to help others?
If all of our days are already recorded in God’s book, all we have to do is ask him. He delights to pour out his Spirit and his wisdom … and then some.
Finding Clarity
In Ruth Saw’s book, Clarity to Create, she shares about her desire to write a book and the advice she received from her mentor:
“Why don’t you write it for yourself? Even if no one reads it, take it as a manual for yourself to find clarity. Walk out what you write and if it works, publish it for others to read.”
Ruth says she decided to take a step of faith and carve out space, sacrificing her money and social life, so she could write. And guess what happened?
“The more I wrote, the more I understood me … I realized I was writing my own instruction manual for my life.”
Only God can take the mess of our story and transform it into a map and message that will help set others free.
For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Revelation 19:10
A testimony is a formal written or spoken statement. All born again believers have stories that testify to the power and activity of Jesus in their life.
Someone needs your story. It’s your legacy. So why not wrestle with it and write it down on paper … or your word processor?
Pen a prophetic blueprint for your life. Become the message. Walk the talk. You never know how God will use it and use you to point the way forward for other people to follow.
God wants to bring people from darkness to light. He wants to call the prodigals home. The lost will be found. The prisoners will be set free. The demonized will be delivered.
This is the potential of your testimony paired with the power of the Holy Spirit!
Messengers arise
The Lord is raising up messengers in these last days to reveal truth and release hope unto revival, reformation, and the return of Christ.
Think of John the Baptist. He knew his identity and mission, which came straight from scripture.
Listen! It’s the voice of someone shouting, “Clear the way through the wilderness for the Lord!“
Isaiah 40:3
Because Isaiah wrote down his prophetic revelation, John was able to run with it and fulfill his assignment. And we’re able to carry the torch today.
God is still speaking. His story is still unfolding … and so is yours. He wants to reach our generation with the words and stories of Spirit-filled messengers across America (and the world).
Does this resonate? Do you desire to be a vessel for the voice of God? Do you want to write, publish, or communicate your story in some creative way?
