For all my fellow book lovers, I thought it might be fun to write down my 2022 reading list and share it with you.
FYI: My genre-of-choice is nonfiction.
BONUS: I’m giving away a copy of my friend’s new book: Soul Gardening. Keep reading for more details.
My 2022 Reads
Bonhoeffer (Eric Metaxas)

I’m about halfway through this biography. So compelling it’s hard to put down … and quite relevant to world events today.
Writing in the Glory (Jennifer Miskov)

An anointed workbook and roadmap for anyone who wants to partner with heaven and birth the message God has given you.
The Supernatural Power of a Transformed Mind (Bill Johnson)

I enjoy listening to Bill’s teaching, so I’m excited to dig into this devotional on a foundational topic: renewing the mind (see Romans 12:1-2).
The Wild Ones (Nate Johnston)

Nate’s heart is for reformers, pioneers, and emerging voices in the body of Christ.
Prophetic Warrior (Emma Stark)

Emma is a prophetic powerhouse who lives in Glasgow. You can watch her on Power Hour.
Adore (Sara Hagerty)

Sara is a deep well of wisdom and truly a writer like no other. She teaches you how to connect authentically with God and His Word.
Clarity to Create (Ruth Saw)

From Singapore, Ruth carries so much joy and wisdom and writes with authenticity. This book will especially resonate with women who feel stuck in a “hope deferred” season.
Good Kills (David Engelhardt)

David is an attorney and lead pastor of Kings’ Church in New York City. This one will likely challenge some faulty thinking on Jesus and God’s justice.
Fighting for Life (Lila Rose)

Lila is the founder of Live Action. I’m feeling called to get more involved in the pro-life/anti-abortion movement, so I’m eager to read this one.
There is Room in Your Womb (Danielle Helmer)

Danielle founded The Wall Movement and is calling for one year of prayer for revival and the ending of abortion starting January 22, 2022. Her new book is a tool to mobilize this prayer initiative.
American Muckraker (James O’Keefe)

James and his organization Project Veritas are doing courageous and important work to uncover truth, expose corruption, and equip a new army of journalists.
Soul Gardening (Renee Fisher)

Renee guides you through seven principles for spiritual growth as you learn to dream, process your story, and discover your spiritual season.
I read Renee’s first book, Faithbook of Jesus, in 2010. God used her writing to speak to me and give me my first “life verse” from Matthew 16.
And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Matthew 16:26 NLT
Over the years, the Lord has taught me so much about the soul. It’s fitting that Renee’s new book is about tending to your soul in partnership with the Lord of Hosts.
Here’s what I know for sure: We all need some soul care.

Bible in a Year
If you’re looking for a Bible reading guide, I’m using this one-year plan: Following Jesus. Find it in the YouVersion Bible app. You can also download a PDF of this plan and watch short weekly recap videos from Awaken Church.
Speaking of the Bible … Here’s some truth from Psalm 65 and a promise to meditate on as you enter this year.
You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance.
Psalm 65:11 NLT
May God be your source of provision, protection, and joy in every season.
Happy New Year, friends! I’m eager to hear what you’re reading in 2022.
Love, Chelsea
I will also like to finish Soul Care by Rob Reimer
